"il concetto con il riverbero alla Pina Bausch"

seen from above:
a small, narrow stair landing at the top of some stairs,
just outside a theater (wherein the film currently showing is a biography on Pina Bausch, including images of "Café Müller")

intermission

4, 5, 6 people wander out into a windy chill to smoke.
one by one they arrive on the landing.
one by one they retrieve a cigarette and light.
one, instead, pulls out a packet of tobacco and rolls a cigarette by hand.
each smokes, together, in silence.
one by one, each finishes and leaves the landing to re-enter the theater.
the one who rolled the tobacco is the last to finish.
alone, he moves from a corner, taking one short step to look over at the small courtyard below.
he sees a dozen or so plastic chairs,
and a few scores of leaves on the ground.
the leaves are crimson.
the chairs are burgundy.
one by one, several leaves are blown away across the courtyard.

the last smoker leaves the terrace and re-enters the theater.

the terrace is again empty.
